Last week I received a very unexpected, very courteous Xbox Live message from STY Shooter, letting me know that he had completed a speedrun of the Flaming Ninja Challenge, an obstacle course I made back in October of 2010. Completing this obstacle course in a single run without dying is impressive enough, but what made STY Shooter’s accomplishment stand out to me so much is that it is truly a speedrun: from the first gate to standing on the throne, he completes the entire course in 5:32. That’s nearly 4 minutes faster than the only other no-death run I’ve ever seen, SHADOWSTRIKE1′s 9:25 completion.

So, here it is!

So…. who wants to do a no-death speedrun on Flaming Ninja Challenge 2?

For the skeptical, I’ve watched the original Halo: Reach saved films for both STY Shooter and SHADOWSTRIKE1′s runs–these are 100% real and unedited.
